NextLease is a New York City platform built for people who need to lease or sublease a commercial space on a timeline that doesn't fit the traditional market.

The NYC rental market wasn't designed for the way people actually work today. Corporate transfers happen mid-lease. Students leave for the summer. Internships and rotational programs run three months, not twelve. A job offer in another city arrives six months into a year-long lease. Every one of these situations creates the same problem — someone has an apartment they need to hand off, and someone else needs a place to live for a defined stretch of time. Today, both of them end up scrolling Facebook groups, refreshing Craigslist, and trading screenshots in WhatsApp threads.

NextLease brings sublease and lease-takeover listings into one place, verified and searchable, so renters can find a real apartment with real terms and sublessors can hand off their lease without spending weeks on it. Every listing on our platform is reviewed before it goes live. Every sublessor is verified. Every listing surfaces the things that actually matter — exact dates, landlord-consent status, what's included, and what isn't.

We started NextLease because we saw the same frustration on both sides of every sublease conversation in New York: too much friction, not enough trust, and no single place to look. Our mission is to make short- and mid-term space transitions in NYC as straightforward as they should have been all along.
